So let the party planning begin! This year's theme is so exciting. I decided WB's birthday theme not too long after his 1st birthday party was over. WB has a love for animals especially certain farm animals. This year's theme plays into his love of farm animals.
With an OINK and a MOO and a Cock-A-Doodle Doo, Weston's birthday theme is Farm/Barnyard.
DETAILS:
Invitations:I already have his invitations picked out and I'm going to attempt to make them myself because $2.25/ per invitation is crazy! I will post a tutorial on that when I'm finished with them. They look so simple and easy to make so I can't wait to get started on them. I have ordered all of my supplies so I will begin on this project very soon.
Date & Place:
I have the venue and the date picked out as well. It's going to be held on Saturday, January 10th at the Seminole Pavilion in our hometown. The venue has a full kitchen, bathrooms, inside seating, a covered outside seating area, and even a outdoor grill. Plus there's plenty of room for the kids to run around and play.
Food:
I think I'm going to do the food a little bit different this year. Last year for Weston's 1st birthday, we just did heavy appetizer type foods (meatballs, pasta salad, etc.) This year I think we're going to do either hamburgers & hot dogs or BBQ sandwiches with fixings.
Activities & Games:
Unlike last year, we're going to set up some farm-themed games for the kids to play. Some of the games and activities I have in mind are: a photobooth, hay ride, ring toss, bean bag toss and cookie decorating station. I'm looking at other ideas as well.
Decorations:
As far as decorations, the only thing I have right now is a banner for over the food that I've started making that will say, "Weston's Farmer's Market". So far, it's a slow process, but easy. I'm going to attempt to make a birthday chalkboard poster as well.
Other:
I still need to decide on the color scheme, more decorations, favors if any, and activities for the kids to play. I'm going to decide on my DIY projects first so I have plenty of time to make them (or buy them if need be).
